Per this receipt I put down a deposit for a TASCAM Portastudio in April of 1990; which at the time allowed me to make multi-track demos both at home and in rehearsal. So on this machine, pictured here, I did the first demos for Gish, Siamese Dream, and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Also master recordings for songs you’d might recognize like “Pennies”, and “Mouths of Babes”, which we’d have to do on this machine as we had no time and no studio by which to record them in.
