I’ve got SO MUCH LOVE for this album… @smashingpumpkins ‘Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness’ was released 30 YEARS AGO today. I can still distinctly remember the first time I listened to it aged 16 years old. I skipped 6th form classes for the afternoon to race home to an empty house… curtains closed, laid on the sofa, volume pumped up… straight through start to finish… it blew my mind!!! It remains to this day my all time FAVOURITE & most listened to album! Whilst the 7th May 1996 ‘Mellon Collie Tour’ gig @ Birmingham NEC Arena – I attended with @thrutheeyesofjbr & @tom.mcmurdo – remains one of my FAVE gigs of all time.

The GENIUS mix of 28 songs… the beautiful, the melodic, the pop… and then at the other end of the spectrum… the raucous and aggressive. It supported me through some very dark times emotionally & mentally throughout those years… as well as the good times. The genius songwriting never fails to tap directly into my emotions regardless of my mood at the time!
