So, over the summer I had to compete nationally in this competition called nats in Philly. I had made it up to that point in the CM category with an original piece titled “I wanna be a rockstar”, Buddy Holly by Weezer, and of course the beloved “1979”. I went to tons of record stores looking for some more stuff to add to my collection, and at this punk store I grabbed my zero shirt. So radical. I had made my way through semi-finals and it was finally that time to sing for finals. However they cut my track because of Billy’s “today” synth. This was due to it being considered a “background vocal” so I instead opted to back myself up with the guitar. I goofed up at the chorus the first time but I quickly got back into it. I got third place, but I had a blast.
