I had a similar thing happen to me when I went to see Keane in '06; they ended up having to cancel their North American tour because the lead singer checked himself into rehab. Disappointing, sure, but they eventually rescheduled and I was able to make the second concert, which was great (I think my seats were probably a lot better the first time around, but oh well that's how it goes).

The thing is people definitely have a right to be sad + frustrated when shit like that happens, but there's no need to veer off into some of the madness that made its way around here in recent days. It was funny to see the difference -- plenty of people were actually great about it, don't get me wrong, but on the whole Keane fans seemed to be a lot more mellow/understanding in the face of their hard luck, lol (and ironically that time really was drug-related)...

Just said the same thing to Satur999, actually -- I've enjoyed/admired your attempts at reasoning with the various Pumpkin Hatas over the last few days, haha... (good on you for trying to make a difference!)

Band's recent track record is this...
Pre-ordered albums are supposed to come with a pre-order ticket code...code screws up and thousands are left pissed. Then the band re-releases the album several times again burning those that ordered it ahead of time, (Usually the true fans here and not the "oh I saw this in Best Buy guys)...so in fact I am trying to encourage the fans to stand/speak up for themselves when wronged...not cry over an EX-Junkie's health problems. If I smoked for 30 yrs and then got lung problems I wouldn't deserve a pity party either. The lack of proper communication about tonight's show from the band is unacceptable for a professional act of their caliber. I am allowed to voice this opinion by the band themselves via this forum! You don't have to agree with me.
