From the outset it was clear, SP arrived at the Kings Hall, not just to play their big hits, but to deliver a raw, emotional, energetic rollercoaster of a set.
The tempo and intensity fluctuated more than any other gig I can remember. A varied and at times re-worked set, really seemed to confuse the Belfast crowd, who I'm sure wanted to hear more popular songs - That would have been good, but the 2hr 40min set that we got was out of this world; for different reasons.
Not many bands could come to Belfast and rock that hard, for that long, with that intensity, and then in an instant have everyone swaying and singing along to an acoustic number - I loved the way they planned their set and performed on stage. The chorus of Tonight, Tonight with the swooshing light show made my spine tingle!
There were intimate moments, laughs and times when I thought SP were going to blow the front off the Kings Hall, such was the fierce intensity of their delivery of many the heavier songs they performed.
Yes, we all know the acoustics in the Kings Hall are poor, but I'm not going to hold that against the band.
I'd like to thank SP for coming to Belfast, and for a touching, emotional and energetic performance. Hope to see you back soon @ The Ulster Hall

Keep 'er lit lads!
